MY FRIEND

I tried to write this by using idioms.

I used the following idioms.

1. I murder French.

2. My beef with her

3. She threw me a curveball.

4. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

5. fish out of water

6. Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

I have a friend. She is a very good person but a bit nosy. One day, when I was cooking dinner, she stopped by my house. She was watching me cook.

She asked, “What are you cooking?”

I answered, “Spaghetti Bolognese!”

She told me that she had a knack for making Spaghetti Bolognese so she put something into the pan. It was vinegar. She mistook vinegar for wine. Oh, my God!!! She completely murdered my dinner. It was okay because such a thing always happens with her. It was not my beef of her. My beef with her is why she hangs around me with no purpose. I couldn’t murder her even if she murdered everything important for me.

I somehow managed to save my dinner. I asked her to join me. She did. We had a chat about our schooldays during dinner. It was the same old story. We had one handsome boy in our class. Every girl liked him. He was our hero. I talked about how we hankered him. At that time she threw me a curveball.

She said, “Actually, I went on a date with him. Well, several times!”

He was an ordinary boy after all, she said!!! In fact, he gave me some love-letters and I kept them even now. She also ruined my sweet memories.

She has a husband. She always boasts about how good-looking, smart, or rich he is. I think of him as a Don Juan. I could tell her that one of our friends had made a date with her husband before they had got married, and maybe even now. But two wrongs don’t make a right. I gave up that idea.

I heard a doorbell ring. My coworker came by. He said we got into trouble with our project. He began to explain. She looked like a fish out of water. She has never worked. She stays home everyday so it’s all Greek to her. She said nothing. She made a face. My coworker was upset about she was getting annoyed. He left soon.

My mother always said, “Do unto others as you would have done unto you” I want to. But there is a person for who it doesn’t work like my friend.

Despite all of this, she is a GOOD person and still my FRIEND.
