Situations in the Subway
There are 3 subway lines in Shanghai now. At a transfer station, as you know, the first line is usually located above the second one.
Last year I demonstrated how to make silver jewelry in a department store for two weeks. At that time, I had to transfer from the 1st line to the 2nd line to get to the department store everyday. It was strange that there were no stairs between the 1st line platform and the 2nd line platform. A passage subtly sloped down. So, that passage was very long. I guess it was over 100 miters. While I walked down that passage, I naturally went down at a faster pace. At first it was a very interesting experience. When I looked around, other people were getting sucked down into the passage at a quick pace as well.
I will say again, I had to work at the department store from 10 am to 10 pm for two weeks. Then I was getting tired. At first I was fine, so the sloping passage was agreeable. But that eventually became painful for me. My pace was getting faster even if I didn’t want to quicken my pace. And what’s more my steps were sometimes unsteady. And then I felt dizzy.

In the case of my nearest subway station, I always feel dizzy when I walk along a flat passage after going down a flight of stairs. At first I thought that it’s because I wore sunglasses. I took off my glasses when I got to the station. But I still felt something wrong. I almost fell backwards. So, I stopped and watched that passage. It seemed to me that it slightly sloped up. It was a very gentle slope. So, it feels like I am walking along a completely level passage, at the same time I also feel that I am falling backwards. It is like a fun house in an amusement park. That’s just what I believe. I have no way to make it sure.
(A few days ago, I got a piece of evidence of it. I WAS RIGHT.)

Shangxin Nan Lu station.
This station is in center of Shanghai. There are a lot of famous department stores and boutiques there. I sometimes go there because there is a Parkson Department Store that has a supermarket in its basement.
When I walk up the stairs from the basement, I always lose my footing. It always happens at the same flight of stair. After I stumbled 3 or 4 times, I recognized that one step is higher than the others. It’s a bit higher. So when I walk up the stairs at the same pace, I stumble on that step because my foot steps out of rhythm.
After that, I try to pay attention to that one step but I usually forget.
I stumble every time.
Blessed the People’s Republic of China!
